September Is Back!

We had our first meeting and it was wonderful.
Our guest speaker, Joyous Windrider Jimenez was spectacular.
She shared her journey and where she is at with her writing.  Joyous' book, The Geography of my Body, is an excellent portrayal of her 'Body Manifesto'.

On each page, she even has an art and writing prompt suggestion to help you think of your body's life. Write to Joyous at [email protected]. Books are only $10 dollars!  I got mine!! Yay.

Remember, poetry is not just rhyming.  It is speaking and conversing about life. Don't let your fear keep you away.
Everyone's word is respected and sharing your story will
help us in our life as we share our story to help you. One last thing, your story/poems do not have to be long. Some of my poems are only 10 lines, unless writing a haiku, they are only 3 lines. What you want to say will determine how long your poem is.  If you join and want to send in  poems for our contests, then the rule is 28 lines or less and 60 spaces per line, that means the words and punctuation and spaces between words. Titles do not count.
You can attend and just listen to see  if you would like to join. Our dues are $20 for the year. I invite everyone and anyone to attend.
Our next meeting will be October 1st. at 2 pm.
Tobin Library on Harry Wuzbach next to Gardner Middle School.

I can't wait to see you there!
Happy poetry thoughts,
Antonia Murguia,
President
